On Tuesday, June 25, our Agora hosted an important discussion on the past 30 years of the digital revolution, covered by the speakers in multiple aspects. From the regulatory side to that of the education of the youngest, the debate offered multiple insights, able to reflect lights and shadows of three decades in which technological development has gone hand in hand with societal change. A timeframe that, not coincidentally, corresponds to Netgroup’s 30 years in business.

In our Observatory, we are currently recording a phenomenon of cyberbullying related to synthetic data: there is a manipulation of students' photos with AI that generates fake photos and videos. In Italy, we have lost some time by postponing certain decisions, taking 20 years to understand that the internet would revolutionize the world. Now there is no more time to waste: I hear too little talk about national data sovereignty, which should be a central issue.
