President Giuseppe Mocerino, host of SkyTg24, talks about how cybersecurity plays an increasingly important role in the conduct of armed conflicts.
A guest on SkyTG24’s Timeline program, hosted by Alessio Viola, Netgroup S.p.A. Chairman Giuseppe Esposito Mocerino commented on the increasingly worrisome growth of the phenomenon of cyber-terrorism, now capable of potentially bringing entire countries to their knees without the use of armed force.
The focus of the talk was the latest news from the Middle East pertaining to the ongoing conflict in Israel.
In fact, the latter is the second, after the one involving Ukraine and Russia, to have the characteristics of “hybrid warfare,” that is, carried out on a virtual as well as a military level.
"The Arab-Israeli conflict is the second, after the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, that exhibits the characteristics of "hybrid warfare." Cyber-terrorism no longer complements traditional terrorism but is an integral part of it."
