VISION | The History of Netgroup in the Official Short Film
Presented during the third edition of the Premio Film Impresa at the Casa del Cinema in Rome, the short film received a Special Mention for Unreleased Works
Three young men looking to the future
In 1994, Giuseppe, Michelangelo, and Salvatore were three twenty-year-olds from the province of Naples with an ambitious dream: to connect all of Italy to the Internet. Together with other young people like them, they formed a team that, overcoming one challenge after another, grew to become a benchmark in the national IT landscape.
A deeply Italian story, born from the vision and determination of three young men who believed in an innovative project for the country’s industry. Today, with the same enthusiasm as thirty years ago, they continue to look ahead, aiming for new and increasingly ambitious goals.
“Visione” receives a Special Mention at the Premio Film Impresa
Roman director Giulio Donato tells this adventure in the short film Visione: the journey of three young men who chose a path as simple as it was courageous—to stay in Italy and found a company that, over time, has become a true community.
“Netgroup was not born by chance, but from a stubborn conviction: that innovation could sprout even far from the major hubs, where often no one looks. Visione is not just the story of a company, but the narrative of an idea that has accompanied us for years. We were young men passionate about the emerging Web, and we wanted to build our future here, in Italy, because it was the most difficult choice, but also the most authentic one. Today the challenge continues, between cybersecurity and artificial intelligence,” says Giuseppe Mocerino, President of Netgroup for thirty years.
A film that speaks of roots, courage, and the future.
Presented within the Premio Film Impresa festival, the short film was awarded the Special Mention for Unreleased Works.
Promoted by Unindustria, the initiative celebrates the world of small and medium-sized Italian enterprises through the language of cinema and aims to tell corporate stories, combining innovation and tradition, while highlighting the productive realities that contribute to the industrial fabric of our country.
