Netgroup’s Cybersecurity Observatory noted the publication of a post by the group called “Akira,” claiming data theft against “Agron (Five Ten) Adidas TERREX.”

Agron, also known as Five Ten, is a German manufacturer of mountain biking, climbing and trail hiking shoes. Originally an American brand founded in California in 1985 by Charles Cole, Five Ten became one of the world’s leading manufacturers of climbing shoes by October 2011. Adidas purchased the company in November 2011.

The Akira Group claims to have come into possession of as much as 20Gb of data regarding Agron’s financial, human resources, marketing and other business information. This data will be made available soon. The group invites those interested in this information to get in touch with them.

Akira is a Ransomware-as-a-Service (RaaS) group that began operations in March 2023. The group has claimed more than 60 victims, mainly of small to medium size. Akira has attracted attention for several reasons, including its retro 80s-themed website and substantial ransom payment demands ranging from $200,000 to hundreds of millions of dollars. Akira ransomware has targeted various sectors, including finance, real estate, manufacturing, and healthcare, with victims predominantly located in the United States and the United Kingdom.
