The meeting, which was held on Tuesday, June 27, at the headquarters of Unione Industriali Napoli, was promoted by Unione Industriali di Napoli itself and the Campania Digital Innovation Hub-Rete Confindustria, in collaboration with the OBR Campania network Fondimpresa: it was an opportunity to talk about the global scenarios, the Campania context, and the methods and actions to put in place to structure an internationalization strategy for SMEs.
Also of primary interest was the topic of cybersecurity, which was covered by our president during his speech:
"The damage generated by cyber-crime erodes more than 4 percent of the world's GDP. The turnover of cyber-crime has surpassed that of drug trafficking. We need to reconsider," he stressed, "the figure of the hacker; he is not the shy kid in a hoodie, he is a real digital mercenary.
"These new digital mercenaries have begun to make increasing and frequent use of automated tools that leverage AI to carry cyber attacks at a speed that was previously unthinkable and would be impossible for a human. Some studies claim that state-of-the-art algorithms are able to analyze social interactions by gaining deep insight into users."
"How many likes does the algorithm need to know us better than we know ourselves? We will have to question ourselves and make assessments sooner or later," he concluded.
